Improving parks
THE Castleford District Parks Partnership consists of six local groups within the Castleford area, which have an interest in developing Castleford's parks and open space areas.

A successful bid to the Transforming Your Space, New Opportunity Fund money of just under £206,000 is now being put into action with the recent employment of a Castleford parks co-ordinator and two new security officers.
The partnership would like to extend its thanks and gratitude to anyone that has given their time during 2004 to an event, or who have returned a questionnaire to one of the partnership groups.
A top concern for the people of Castleford who returned a questionnaire, was the issue of security within parks.
I am pleased to say that our officers will be liasing with the local police and the local community constables to help reassure park users that the groups involved within the partnership are listening to local concerns and more importantly, are up to the task of delivering a service requested by local people.
