Whitwood Community Action Group
The Whitwood group have a drop-in centre (See location Map) where regular events take place such as Craft evenings every Thursday, and Bingo sessions.
The Whitwood Group were recently invited to the old Coalfield regeneration Area, to the site of a proposed new outside leisure complex called "DiggerLand" which would incorporate miniature JCB Type vehicles for Adults & Children to Ride.
The Whitwood & Cutsyke Groups Through their campaigning, and with the aid of the CDPP, have persuaded the WMDC to reduce the Speed Limit from 40 to 30MPH on the A655 (Willowbridge Lane) for its full length between its Junction with the M62 and Cutsyke Hill near Whitwood College. Aslo they have managed to persuade WMDC to introduce a 30MPH speed limit to Cutsyke Hill for the whole of its length from the A655 junction to its junction with Aketon Road,
